Georgia Advocacy Office (GAO) believes that people with disabilities are full and equal members of our communities. Our work is grounded in the belief that every person has value, voice, and the right to direct their own life.

We support people with disabilities to live free from abuse, neglect, and discrimination and to access the support they need to thrive. We work alongside individuals and communities to protect rights, challenge injustice, and create opportunities for inclusion and belonging.

Through advocacy, education, legal strategies, and policy change we promote community living and integration, not institutionalization. We work to shift systems and mindsets so people are treated with dignity, respect, and equality

Whether we’re in courtrooms, classrooms, or community centers, our work is always centered on one goal: ensuring that people with disabilities are recognized as respected and valued members of society—with the freedom to live their own lives, in their own way.
